Park History
Juilfs Park is the product of two parcels. In 1980, the south eight acres were donated by Elizabeth Juilfs. The remaining 18 acres were purchased from the Juilfs Foundation in 1983.
The Juilfs Foundation continues to provide significant annual donations to this park’s development. The grand opening was on July 19, 1986. The Park District’s main office was located in the former Juilfs family residence in Juilfs Park until 2021. The main office now resides at the Anderson Parks RecPlex, 6915 Beechmont Avenue.
Tennis Courts
The courts were constructed in the Fall of 1998, after the APD was awarded a grant from the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation and the Juilfs Foundation.
Playground and water Play area
Renovated in 2013, this farm-themed playground was completed by early fall 2016 with the addition of the water play area.
The additional funding for the final phase was secured thanks to an Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks grant, and significant contributions from the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation. The largest of the donations came from the Juilfs Foundation. The water play area is adjacent to the existing playground, to the east of the swings.
Basketball court renovation
In 2016, the basketball court renovation included new backboards, new surfacing, freshly painted lines, and new benches. This improvement was also made possible by a substantial donation from the Juilfs Foundation.
