Opening Date
1978. The Park was re-dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 1997 to all Anderson residents who served in the US armed services.
Acquisition
Originally known as Forest Park, the 13.1 acres for Veterans Park was purchased in 1978. The Park received a ‘face lift’ in 1997, made possible by a NatureWorks grant awarded in 1996. In 2023, several play units were thoughtfully replaced, and new play pods were installed along the gravel trail. These enhancements were made possible through the generous support of the Charles Gill Estate and funding from the 2023 capital levy.
