Beech Acres Park

Beech Acres Park is a favorite among Anderson Township residents of all ages! This multi-use park boasts amenities to suit a variety of recreational interests including an all-children’s playground and water play, rentable shelters, an amphitheater, a Firefighter’s Memorial, athletic fields, volleyball and basketball courts, restrooms, and a skatepark, all surrounded by a paved hike/bike trail. Beech Acres Park is also the site for some of the park district’s most popular events such as summer Concerts in the Park, A Fair of the Arts and Anderson Day.
Adjacent to the park is the Anderson Parks RecPlex, home to the Recreation Department. The RecPlex features a gym and classroom space for many of the park district’s year-round programs, events and leagues.
Hours of Operation
- Park: Open from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, excluding special events.

Playground water play operating hours: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Scheduled to be turned on by Memorial Day Weekend and turned off after Labor Day weekend.
- RecPlex: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Hours may vary weekly according to programs and holidays.

Opening Date
The official “opening” of the re-developed park took place in conjunction with the 2004 Anderson Days.
Acquisition
Between 1993 and 1997, this property was leased from the Beech Acres Parenting Center. In 1997, the Anderson Park District purchased the land containing athletic fields and has since re-developed the park into a multi-use facility. In October 2023, after relocating their headquarters, Beech Acres Parenting Center sold the remaining 17 acres of their campus at 6881 Beechmont Avenue to the Anderson Park District. This property is adjacent to the current Beech Acres Park and brings the total acreage of Beech Acres Park to 44.5 acres for Anderson Township residents to recreate.
