Batter up! The Riverside Park Ball Diamond Project is Complete!
March 2, 2026
The Riverside Park Ball Diamond project at Riverside Park is now complete, bringing exciting upgrades for players and park patrons. Ballfields #2 through #5 have been converted from dirt infields to synthetic turf to increase playability and allow for more consistent use in varying weather conditions. Lighting has also been installed to extend play beyond darkness, and the fields now feature new backstops, upgraded infield fencing, and new player benches. In addition, a new drinking fountain with a bottle filler has been installed in the wheel area to provide easier access to water for players and park patrons.
While the backstop and fencing remain in place, ballfield #1 has been transformed into an all-grass area for open recreational use.
Ball Diamonds remain closed at this time, with an anticipated opening day of March 9. Visit https://andersonparks.com/athletic-fields/ball-diamonds/ for information on obtaining a field permit, and https://andersonparks.com/ball-diamonds/ for current field status updates.
The funding for this project is a result of the Anderson Parks 25-year Park Improvement Plan approved by voters in November of 2023. The 1 mill capital levy is dedicated to improvement projects in the parks, focused on the 6 Ps: Paths, Potties, Parking, Playgrounds, Pickleball, and Playability.
