Message from the Board of Park Commissioners

The Board of Park Commissioners recently made the difficult decision to not subsidize Anderson Day for 2026. Anderson Day has been a valued community tradition for more than 25 years, hosted by the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation. We thank volunteers, sponsors, partners, and attendees who made Anderson Day so meaningful for so many. Declining sponsorship revenue and increased costs have resulted in ongoing financial losses. In keeping with its commitment to fiscal responsibility, the Board determined that continued subsidization is not currently sustainable. The Foundation will seek community input for its events moving forward. The Park District remains proud of and focused on delivering a wide range of successful events and programs for the community, offering over 250 programs a year.
