Park History
The land for the original Laverty Park was comprised of two non-contiguous parcels of land.
In 1978, a parcel was acquired by court order. In 1995, a parcel containing 4.5 acres was transferred to the Anderson Township Green Space efforts.
Playground gets a facelift
Thanks to a NatureWorks grant through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Laverty Park received a new playground in 2010! The playground features a rock wall, more climbers, slides, and a new set of swings.
Anderson residents, including children, chose the new design plan after reviewing three design alternatives and providing input at the Open House. Much thanks goes to these individuals for all their hard work!
