Community Engagement Study
Anderson Park District recently worked in conjunction with the Anderson Township Government and Forest Hills School District to create a Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
The purpose of this RFQ is to complete a community engagement study for the 23 acres within Beech Acres Park (including the 17 new acres purchased in 2023 and the 6 acres around the RecPlex) to determine what types of recreational amenities the public would like to see on that portion of the property. A committee comprising of staff and officials from the Anderson Park District, Anderson Township Government and Forest Hills School District selected Brandstetter Carroll Inc. for this community engagement study because of their experience and knowledge in this line of work.
Brandstetter Carroll Inc. has created over 200 Park Master Plans, 300 Park Designs and 100 Park and Recreation System Plans. Their project team has extensive public engagement and consensus building project experience. Brandstetter Carroll will contract with ETC Institute for the statistically valid survey. ETC Institute is a market research firm that specializes in the design and administration of market research for government organizations. Their major area of emphasis includes citizen satisfaction surveys, park and recreation surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.
The entire community engagement study process is estimated to take 7 months. The process of developing a comprehensive parks and recreation master plan is intricate and multifaceted, involving extensive research, community engagement, design, and planning expertise. Stay tuned for additional updates.
