*** At this time, all camp registration has been suspended until further notice. We will make decisions regarding the camps in May as we receive direction from the Governor’s office. In the event of cancellation, all participants currently registered will receive a full refund.***
The park district’s summer camps have been a staple in the Anderson community since 1984, and are a great way for kids to spend their summer vacation. A variety of options are offered for children ages 3½–12. Camp counselors are carefully selected to provide fun, safe and meaningful camp experiences.
Each camp has enrollment limits and registration is first-come, first-served.
March 9, 2020 update:
We are now accepting registrations from families who attended our 2019 Summer Day Camp for 2-3 weeks. We have directly communicated with these families who are eligible.
February 26, 2020 update:
We have completed the first round of priority registration (families who attended 6 weeks or more in 2019). We are now accepting registrations from families who attended our 2019 Summer Day Camp for 4-5 weeks. We have directly communicated with these families who are eligible. After March 9, registration for any remaining spots will be communicated to participants who previously attended Anderson Parks Summer Day Camp.
February 4, 2020 update:
We appreciate your patience as we work through potential obstacles that may occur during the renovation of the RecPlex from January 1 through June of 2020. Our challenge has been to determine a guaranteed date by which the RecPlex will be operational for our Summer Day Camp program. Therefore, we have been working to secure a back-up facility that is safe, reliable and available on a consistent basis.
With a back-up site now secured, we have started the process of planning a MODIFIED Summer Day Camp program. Changes being made for this summer in order to accommodate our program include: lower enrollment, reduced camp hours, and a new payment structure with no part-time option. We have determined a camp registration process that will begin with camp families who had child(ren) attend our 2019 Summer Day Camp 6 weeks or more. We will directly communicate with these families about a priority registration period of February 10-February 21. After February 21, registration for any remaining spots will be communicated to participants who previously attended Anderson Parks Summer Day Camp.
Please refer to this site for additional updates regarding the 2020 Summer Day Camp program. Thanks again for your patience as we work to continue our 30-year tradition of quality Summer Day Camp in the Anderson Parks.
Additional Information as of February 5, 2020: At this time, we are not accepting new families. Should additional spots become available, we will update this webpage. New families are encouraged to send us their mailing address! This way you will be sure to receive next year’s brochure when are back to our normal summer camp operation. email@example.com
January 10, 2020 update:
Construction to renovate the RecPlex will impact the 2020 Summer Day Camp program. We continue to carefully consider program modifications that would also meet the quality standards our camp families are accustomed to. To be as upfront as possible: at this point we are not entirely sure we will have Summer Day Camp.
Our goal is to provide an update by early February on this page. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through our options.
